PROVIDENCE, RI — Eastern Connecticut State University senior midfielder Jen Ferrari (Coventry, RI) received Little East Conference Offensive Player of the Year honors, Keene State College senior back Elizabeth Vachon (Amherst, NH) was recognized as the Defensive Player of the Year, while Keene State College sophomore midfielder Breanne Lucey (Keene, NH) earned Rookie of the Year accolades and Head Coach Steve Quinones of the University of Southern Maine was cited as the league’s Coach of the Year to highlight the league's annual list of award winners.
Ferrari closes out her collegiate career with her fourth appearance on the LEC Post-Season All Star Team and first Offensive Player of the Year award. This fall, she led the league in goals and points, 15 and 41, respectively, while also adding 11 assists, which was good for second in the LEC. Ferrari led the Warriors to a second place finish in the league and an appearance in the LEC Tournament Championship, where they fell to top-seeded Keene State.
Vachon anchored a Keene State defense which allowed just six goals in conference play, en route to an unbeaten LEC season. The Owls transferred that success into the post-season where they captured the LEC Tournament Championship. Along with her play in the back, Hogan scored a goal and assisted on another for three points on the season.
A two-time recipient of the league’s rookie of the Week Award, Lucey, a first-year playing sophomore, led Keene State in goals, with 12, and points, with 28. Her goal and point totals were good to tie her for third place in the conference.
