Framingham, MA- Framingham State College women’s soccer coach Tucker Reynolds picked up his first win on the Rams bench today at home with a 3-0 win over visiting UMass Dartmouth.
It was the Rams first win of the season to bring their record to 1-4, while UMass Dartmouth falls to .500 at 3-3.
After a scoreless first half, freshman Alyssa Zardiackas dribbled thru two defenders and fired a shot past the goalkeeper to give the Rams a 1-0 lead at the 61:23 mark. Five minutes later senior Daniela Ferrara scored off a corner kick from sophomore Holly Boudreau to give the Rams a 2-0 lead. Freshman Jill Jenkinson finished off the scoring for the Rams in the 77th minute when she beat the UMass Dartmouth goalkeeper to a cross from Zardiackas and placed the ball in the corner of the net.
Framingham State College goalkeeper junior Ashley Baker had an outstanding day making 8 saves to pick up her first shut out and first win in a Rams uniform, while UMass Dartmouth goalkeeper Shawna Howell had 9 saves on the day.
The Rams return to action on Thursday as they host Babson at 4pm.
