Bentley College hands Corsair men and women swim losses

(Dartmouth, MA) -- The UMass Dartmouth swimming and diving teams were swept by Bentley College in a pair of meets held at the Tripp Athletic Center Wednesday night.

For the women, it was UMD losing by a score of 158-83.  The Corsair women are now 3-3 heading in to the Little East Championships to be held this Saturday at UMass Boston.  Seanna McRae (E. Taunton, MA) was the lone winner for the Corsairs, finishing first in the 100 yd IM (1:05.37) and the 100 yd Backstroke (1:03.48). 

For Corsair men (1-5), it was UMD losing by a score of 121-91.  Adam Barkley (Berea, OH) won the 200 yd Freestyle (1:55.75), Peter DiBenedetto (N. Andover, MA) won the 1 Meter Diving with a score of 155.25, Garrick Wong (Needham, MA) touched first in the 100 yd Freestyle (51.24), and Gino Escalante (Fall River,MA) won the 100 yd Breaststroke with a time of 1:06.20.  The relay team of Tom Cakounes (Chelmsford, MA), James Newton (Marstons Mills, MA), Barkley, and Wong teamed up to win the 200 yd Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:33.11.
