400-Yard IM at ECAC Swimming and Diving Championships
(Pittsburgh, PA) -- UMass Dartmouth senior Amy Stucchi (Westboro, MA) placed 14th overall in the 400-yard intermediate medley at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Swimming Diving Championships held Feb. 26-29 at the University of Pittsburgh’s Trees Pool.
The ECAC Swimming and Diving Championship is an open competition featuring athletes from Division I, II and III institutions from throughout the east.
In the 400-Yard IM finals held on Saturday, Stucchi finished 14th overall with a time of 4:45.30 to earn three points for UMass Dartmouth. Stucchi broke a UMass Dartmouth school record she had set earlier in the season at 4:45.55.
Stucchi also qualified to compete but did not place in the 200-Yard Fly and the 200-Yard IM at the ECAC Championships
Stucchi’s performance at the ECAC Championships came one week after she led the Corsairs women’s team to a second place finish, UMass Dartmouth’s best finish ever in the New England Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. Stucchi had a pair of first-place finishes and a second place finish, plus she was part of a second-place relay team at the Division III New Englands.
