CHAMPIONSHIP MEET GUIDELINES

 

Each team is allowed to enter a maximum of 18 athletes, with divers counting as 1/3 a person.

 

CODE OF CONDUCT: All NCAA rules will be followed unless otherwise noted.

 

SWIMMING

1.  All events are timed finals.

2.  Each contestant may enter no more than 4 events, one of which must be a relay.

     Participation in “B” relays will not count as a swim.

3.  Each college or university may enter 1 official relay and 1 “B” relay, which should be

     clearly marked, on the meet entry form.  Relay cards will be due prior to the beginning

     of each session.

4.  There are no exhibition entries allowed for individual events.

5.  All events will be pyramid seeded.

6.  There will be no deck entries allowed.

7.  National proof of performance forms will be available and will be signed at the

     conclusion of the meet.

 

DIVING

1.  Diving warm-up will begin at 9:00 AM and continue until 10 minutes before

     competition.

2.  The 1-meter diving event will be conducted while the swimming events are taking

     place.  The swim meet will pause briefly to view 3-meter diving.

3.  The 1-meter diving will take place first, followed by a break, and then the 3-meter

     diving will take place.

4.  All diving sheets for both events should be filled out and turned in up to 10 minutes

     before competition begins.

5.  The diving order shall be posted on the wall behind the diving well, as well as,

     announced prior to the event.

6.  Diving events: Six (6) dives as according to NCAA regulations.

7.  Proof of performance sheets will be available and signed at meet’s end.

LOCKER ROOMS

Lockers are available in the Women’s Locker Room area.  Athletes must provide their own locks, and lock all team bags in the lockers provided.  NO BAGS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE POOL DECK.

 

SPORTS MEDICINE

There will be a certified athletic trainer available during the meet.  Any institution which has an athlete requiring treatment prior to the meet, should have their team’s athletic trainer provide them with information regarding treatments needed prior to the meet.

 

PUBLIC SAFETY AND ORDER

A.  NO SMOKING    Smoking is prohibited within the Tripp Athletic Center.

B.  SPECTATORS AND CHILDREN     Spectators are expected to behave in an orderly fashion.  Parents or guardians must closely supervise children at all times.  Children are not permitted to run or roam through the athletic center.  Spectators and children are to remain in the natatorium balcony and lobby areas at all times.

 

HOSPITALITY ROOM

There will be a hospitality room for all coaches, officials, and meet staff before, during, and following the meet.

 

AWARDS

Trophies will be awarded to the first place finisher in all events.  Certificates will be awarded to the second and third place finishers.  A Championship plaque will be presented to the team who has accumulated the most points at the end of the meet.
