GORHAM, Maine  --  Sophomore middle-hitter Nazareth Cordoso (Brockton, Mass./Brockton) hit for a team-high eight kills and served for three aces to lead the UMass Dartmouth Corsairs to a 3-0 win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies in a Little East Conference women’s volleyball match, Wednesday at Hill Gymnasium on the Gorham campus.

With the win the Corsairs move to 5-6 overall and even out at 2-2 in the Little East. The loss snaps a two-match win streak for the Huskies who fall to 4-7 overall and remain winless, at 0-4, in the conference.

Cordoso ended the match for the Corsairs with her third service ace of the night to cap a come-from-behind rally for UMass Dartmouth in the third game.  Trailing early in the third game, the Corsairs used a string of three service aces from junior setter Lauren Daly (Brockton, Mass./Brockton) to regain the lead and take the match.  Daly ended the match with a team-high 17 assists while Cordoso swung for four of her eight kills in the third game.

Sophomore outside hitter Britney Coyle (Dartmouth, Mass./Dartmouth) added seven kills in the win while freshman libero Melanie Staiger (Bourne, Mass./Bourne) had a team-high 18 digs.  Freshman middle-hitter Hilary Teichart (Bourne, Mass./Bourne) posted two solo blocks in the win.
