With the win the Corsairs move to 5-6 overall and even out at 2-2 in the Little East. The loss snaps a two-match win streak for the Huskies who fall to 4-7 overall and remain winless, at 0-4, in the conference.
Cordoso ended the match for the Corsairs with her third service ace of the night to cap a come-from-behind rally for UMass Dartmouth in the third game. Trailing early in the third game, the Corsairs used a string of three service aces from junior setter Lauren Daly (
Sophomore outside hitter Britney Coyle (Dartmouth, Mass./Dartmouth) added seven kills in the win while freshman libero Melanie Staiger (Bourne, Mass./Bourne) had a team-high 18 digs. Freshman middle-hitter Hilary Teichart (Bourne, Mass./Bourne) posted two solo blocks in the win.
Senior outside hitter Amanda Starkey (Center Barnstead, N.H./Coe-Brown) led the Husky attack with 10 kills. Freshman outside hitter Cassi Sticht (Meredith, N.H./Inter-Lakes) added eight kills and freshman outside hitter Shannon Stoll (Shrewsbury, Mass./Shrewsbury) chipped in with six kills, a team-high six service aces and eight digs. Sophomore setter Ellie Daigle (Rollinsford, N.H./Somersworth) had a match-high 26 assists for USM to go along with nine digs.
