                             CORSAIRS DOWNS WORCESTER STATE

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA - Junior setter Lauren Daly (Brockton, MA/Brockton HS) had 11 kills, 17 digs and 21 assists to lead the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth volleyball team to a 30-19, 22-30, 30-28 and 30-26 victory over Worcester State at the Tripp Athletic Center Tuesday evening.

Daly served a pair of aces in a 3-0 run as the Corsairs pulled away in the fourth game and opened up a 26-21 lead.

Freshman middle blocker Hilary Teichart (Bourne, MA/Bourne HS) added 12 kills, while senior libero Damara Moses (Dartmouth, MA/Dartmouth HS) and freshman libero Aly Zagame (Greenfield, MA/Greenfield HS) each had 12 digs.

Jodi Nascimento led WSC with 12 kills, Jennifer Morris added 11 and Ryan Hinson had seven. Setter Janelle Lavoie (Fall River, MA) added 29 assists.

“We played well in the first game, but then we cam out sloppy in the second game,” said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Jocelyn Costa. “We seem to have a problem getting started in game two, especially after a win. We were finally able to relax, and we did a better job of communicating with each other, and that helped us step it up.”

The Corsairs improved to 12-11 with the victory, while WSC fell to 11-13 with the defeat. UMass Dartmouth will host Rivier Thursday evening in their final home match of the regular season. It will be Senior Night.
