SAIL: Student Activities, Involvement & Leadership

Major Campus Events

The Student Activities, Involvement & Leadership Office is the host to many major events here at UMass Dartmouth! Here you can read about and look forward to all of the exciting events that will occur throughout the school year here at UMD.  First are some external links to places where you will find information about Major Campus Events; these sites will open in a new window for you.  Below that is a list of some Major Events the SAIL Office does directly.

Welcome Week

The SAIL Office is proud to start off every fall semester with Welcome Week festivities! It’s an exciting time for the university beginning the first week of school where we are welcoming returning and new students to the UMass Dartmouth campus. There are array of activities that are offered ranging from a hypnotist, comedians, welcome dances and afternoon novelty activities. It is a great way to get to know people if you are new, or catch up with returning friends from years past.

Fall Festival

The Fall Festival is another event coordinated by the SAIL Office in cooperation with several clubs and departments including CAB and the Alumni Relations Office. It is a traditional and exciting weekend of events that include alumni, parents and the university community. Traditionally held in October, this event showcases our residents and student organizations through their participation in a parade that forms a procession to one of our fall athletic events. It is also at this time that the Royal Court is introduced.

Spring Fest

A new tradition at UMass Dartmouth where staff, faculty and students participate in this campus community event that guarantees lots of fun with Carnival type rides and novelty activities. This out side affair usually offers choice entertainment ranging from local bands to sometimes larger national acts. It’s a guaranteed day of fun!

Senior Week

This week is devoted to the graduating seniors. Activities of past Senior Weeks have included traditional lobster bakes, Hawaiian Luau, a final RATT, trips to Newport and a host of other spectacular activities!  It's a great way to conclude your last couple of days as a senior at UMD!
