Sigma Phi Rho Fraternity, Inc. is one of the youngest national fraternities in the country. Sigma Phi Rho was chartered by 13 brothers from Wagner College in the year of our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-nine for the purpose of developing brotherhood. Sigma Phi Rho believes that the developement of strong character and good moral judgement is essential in the type of bulwark democracy needs to march forward. The purpose of this fraternity to serve its school and aid in the developement and growth. Sigma Phi Rho is highly supportive of other students' organizations on campus. It is also involved in community activities, thereby improving the public relations between the school and neighboring community. Sigma Phi Rho Fraternity, Inc. has two interest groups: The Prophet for first semester freshman and The Rhoman Court for high school students. Also, there is a Sweetheart Court for the undergraduate chapters and colonies, which goes under the name of The Rhoses. Sigma Phi Rho accepts four major organizational goals: the continual building of the concept of lasting brotherhood, fulfillment of developing strong character and good moral judgement, service to the community, and high academic achievement. Toward these goals this organization is dedicated.
In the years to come, Sigma Phi Rho Fraternity, Inc. plans to translate goals expressed at the founding and periodically reaffirm throughout the existence into programs, projects, and activities which will have contemporary value as well as enduring significance to the unique history of Sigma Phi Rho Fraternity, Inc.
