Benefits of being a Registered Student Organization
The following is a list of benefits available to your organization when you register with the Student Activities, Involvement & Leadership Office:
Advising - Assistance from SAIL Staff, Conferences and Events Staff, Campus Center Operations Staff, and other relevant offices on campus pertaining to your organization.
Email - Access to a University email address for your organization.
Facilities - Access to University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth facilities and space for student organization activities, meetings, and events, such as Campus Center, the Main Auditorium, Library Browsing Area, Campus Patio, etc.
Funding - Eligibility for funding through Student Senate
Fund Raising - Permission to conduct fund raising events on campus and/or using university facilities.
Leadership Tips - Handouts available in the Resource Library on basic leadership tips for student leaders.
Mailbox - Access to a mailbox located on the 2nd floor of the Campus Center adjacent to the SAIL Office.
Name - Permission to use "University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth" in the student organization name.
Promotion - Access to promote your club or organization, reserve free table space at the annual Student Organization Fair, listing of student organization name in official University publications and on the University website, permission to post events on the University Calendar of Events, and use of designated bulletin boards and brochure racks.
Resources - Access to the Resource Library for Student Organizations in the SAIL Office, books on teambuilding, icebreakers, conflict mediation, fundraising, etc. for events and activities.
Training - Access to free membership and leadership training on various topics such as event planning, fundraising, web design, etc.
Web page - Access to create an organization web site linked to the University web page.
