Requirements for Organizations
All student organizations must know and adhere to these:
Membership Requirements

Student organizations must have at least ten members.

Members may include undergraduate or graduate student who are full or part time, as well as faculty, staff, and members of the greater Dartmouth community.

The organization must agree to a membership that is open to all students without regard to race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation or physical disability.
Officer Requirements

Student organization must have at least four officers.

Those officers must be enrolled as UMD students.
-
Each officer must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.5 for their elected term of office.

Advisor Requirements

An advisor must be affiliated with UMD as a full time faculty, administrative, or professional staff member.

The advisor must completely fill out the Advisor Agreement (PDF) and return it to the SAIL Office.
Constitution Requirements
The Constitution of any Organization must:

Describe the purpose of the organization.

Describe the membership criteria and privileges.
-
List the roles, responsibilities and election procedures for officers .
-
Each organization must have a clearly defined president or chairperson, vice-president, treasurer and secretary.

Include specifics on meetings (such as how many members represent a quorum, how many regular meetings will you hold per year and the procedure for calling a meeting).

Have a copy on file with the SAIL Office. |
