Lessons in Leadership and Civic Responsibility
A Unity House Signatures Program
It is our pleasure to welcome you to the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's Lessons in Leadership and Civic Responsibility seminar for spring 2011.
This exciting program is designed to expose you to the principles of leadership and the skills and competencies that are necessary for effective leadership. It is also an opportunity for you to learn from each other and to become inspired to assume leadership positions on campus.
You will meet with faculty members, community members, and others who are exceptional leaders and experts in their fields. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to learn from and be inspired by these individuals.
To sign-up fill-out an application, email, fax or send it to Frederick Douglass Unity House using the information below. Make sure to consider the students schedule before applying/ or recommending them for the program. Students are asked to make The Lessons program a priority as it will be held every Thursday from 3:00 to 5:00 here in the Unity House.
As students develop a class schedules for the semester, be sure they are plan appropriately. The first sessions will start on Thursday February the 10th and the last session will be on April the 10th 2011. (a ten week commitment)
Applications need to be in no later than Tuesday February 1st as we will need time to process the applications and send out acceptance letters. If you do not get selected don't worry we will be having another class in the following spring 2012.
