Recommended Immunizations

Gardasil

It is recommended that women between the ages of 11-26 receive the Gardasil vaccine. Gardasil works to prevent the four major forms of human papilloma virus (HPV) that causes cervical cancer and genital warts.

Meningitis

Meningococcal disease is caused by infection with bacteria called Neisseria meningitidis. These bacteria can infect the tissue that surrounds the brain and spinal cord called the "meninges" and cause meningitis, or they can infect the blood or other body organs. In the United States, about 2,600 people each year get meningococcal disease and 10-15% die despite receiving antibiotic treatment. Of those who survive, about 10% may lose limbs, become deaf, have seizures or strokes, or have other problems with their nervous system.

Flu Shots and Meningitis Vaccine

Flu shots are offered each year in the Fall. Maxim Health Care will be providing these shots for a fee of  $30.  Please bring your insurance card as some insurances may be able to be billed. (Please do not call the health office as we do not know which insurances are billable).  Maxim will also offer the Meningitis vaccine for a fee of $130. No appointment is necessary. The cost of the Flu shot and the Meningitis vaccine will most likely increase from year to year and will be updated here on the website in the Fall.
