Dr. David Milstone
Associate Vice Chancellor
Dr. David Milstone has served in higher education for 29 years. He began his work at UMass Dartmouth in August of 2006. Previous to his arrival, Dr. Milstone served as the Dean of Student Life at Connecticut College and Dean of Students at MassBay Community College. He also held student affairs positions at Clark University, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and UMass Amherst. Dr. Milstone is a product of the UMass system as he received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from UMass Amherst and his doctorate from UMass Boston. He is married to a saint and is the proud father of the two best kids on the planet.

Cynthia Cummings
Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
Ms. Cummings assumed the position of Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at UMass Dartmouth in July, 2008. Prior to that time, she worked at the University of Delaware for 25 years, where she served as Assistant Director for Residence Life, Associate Director for Residence Life, Director of Residence Life, and Associate Vice President for Campus Life. She is not a stranger to New England as she worked in residence life at the University of New Hampshire before moving to Delaware.
Cynthia holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in French Language and Literature and a Masters of Science Degree in College Student Personnel Administration from Indiana University, Bloomington. She has extensive experience in college and university residential education, judicial affairs, and crisis management. She has served as a consultant to higher education institutions, public school systems, and community organizations on issues of multiculturalism and diversity.
Cynthia is an avid fan of opera and jazz and a collector of contemporary art and craft. She and her partner are dog lovers who share their home with two energetic Kerry Blue Terriers.

Mary M. Beckwith
Associate Dean of Students
Mary Beckwith came to UMass Dartmouth in August 2005 as Coordinator for Student Judicial Affairs and moved into the Associate Dean of Students position in January 2007. Mary is a 25 year student affairs veteran having worked in such areas as housing and residence life, new student orientation and judicial affairs. A first generation college student and a product of the UMass system, Mary holds a B.A. in Mass Communication and an M.Ed. in Educational Media and Technology both from UMass Amherst.
Prior to coming to UMass Dartmouth, Mary worked at UMass Amherst, Franklin Pierce College, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Drexel University, Muhlenberg College, and the Marine Biological Laboratory. A native of Worcester, Mary makes her home in Dartmouth with her wife and young son. Her passions include tennis, music, film, and landscaping.

Monique Sadarangani
Director for the Office of Student Conduct and Dispute Resolution
Monique Sadarangani began her career at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth in September of 2006 in the Department of Housing and Residential Life. She was appointed as the Coordinator for Student Judicial Affairs in May of 2007.
Prior to working at UMASS Dartmouth, she was at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, employed by the Office of Housing and Residential Life for five years. At the University of Hawaii at Manoa, she served as a Residential Life Coordinator for both first year and upper classmen areas. She has also held positions in Conference Housing and Off-Campus Housing.
Monique Sadarangani has earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Religious Studies, as well as a Master of Humanities degree in Asian Religions from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Ann Valentino
Administrative Assistant
Ann Valentino joined the Student Affairs Staff in 2004. She provides clerical and administrative support for both the Vice Chancellor and Associate Vice Chancellor.
She has worked at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth since 1992. She previous worked in the Purchashing/Telecommunication Departments. Ann is the mother of 3 grown sons.

Marjorie Fernandes
Administrative Assistant
Marjorie Fernandes joined the Student Affairs office in June 2004. She assists Mary Beckwith, the Associate Dean of Students for Student Affairs, providing clerical and administrative support. As well as back-up support to the Coordinator of Student Judicial Affairs.
She has worked at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth since 2001. She previously assisted the Director of the Frederick Douglass Unity House managing and coordinating the daily operations of the center.
