"Although UMass Dartmouth is a large university, I'm impressed with how easy it is to get in contact with faculty when I have questions."
How does the nursing major fit into your life's plans?
Ever since my first year in high school, I have known that working one-on-one with individuals in the healthcare field was a career I hoped to pursue. My nursing classes will help me to be a well-rounded nurse that not only can treat a patient’s physical ailments, but also their emotional, social, and spiritual well-being.
What has surprised you most about UMass Dartmouth?
I was surprised at the tremendous organization and comprehensiveness of class material that has been presented to me in all of my nursing classes and clinical rotations.
What has been your biggest struggle?
I have to admit that being in the nursing program can get quite demanding at times. Luckily, I have formed a great group of friends, and we've learned the importance of supporting one another through these stressful times.
Who are your favorite professors?
I can honestly say that I enjoyed my classes with every single nursing professor over the past four years. They have all had such great experiences that they shared with us, which really helped strengthen our learning experience.
What are you plans after graduation?
I plan to work in an area hospital with the pediatric population. I also plan to take classes part-time in order to obtain my M.S. in Nursing.
What advice do you have for incoming nursing students?
Find a group of friends with the same educational goals and classes as you, show up to your classes, take good notes, and study as a group for exams.
