What are your plans after leaving UMass Dartmouth?
I've been offered a job at Lockheed Martin Sippican in Marion, MA. My major has prepared me for the position of an Information Systems Security Analyst by providing me with the fundamentals of the typical business structure, program life-cycle and information system activities. My work at UMass Dartmouth directly resulted in a successful transition from education to career.
Tell us about your internship at Lockheed Martin.
The exposure to the workplace environment was an invaluable asset to my learning. It allowed me to utilize my course work at UMass Dartmouth in parallel with a real-world application.
What's one thing no UMass Dartmouth student should miss?
Participating in an internship. Every semester there's a continuous flow of internship opportunities—take advantage of them!
What was your greatest challenge?
Balancing my work as a full-time student, working 40 hours a week, and being a father of two wonderful girls.
Is there anyone you'd like to thank?
My loving wife Kristen. She supported my decision to return to school after 8 years of service in the Navy. Additionally, she's often endured my working diligently late into the night. She's been, and always will be, my constant support in my life to give me the strength to balance my education, career, and family life.
