"The future is yours, but you have to claim it. "
Tell us about something you were involved with at UMass Dartmouth, and how it's changed you.

I listened to my friend Ibrahim Khonteh explain to a small group how he was a former child soldier and about his struggles in Sierra Leone.  I was inspired by him to work on impacting the lives of others in need. As a result, we created a nonprofit community service organization called Operation Help Now, whose mission is to spread global awareness and to physically help people who are in need.

What have you learned that's made a difference to you?

In my College Now course I learned how to become a "master student," and in my engineering courses,  how to solve challenging problems. But the two most important lessons I learned throughout my undergraduate career is to never follow the crowd and to never give up.

What advice would you like to share with future students?

The future is yours, but you have to claim it. There is power in words and if you believe whatever you set your mind to, you will certainly succeed. Overall, it’s not what you believe in but who you believe in that matters.

Who would you like to thank?

I would like to thank my Lord Savior Jesus Christ, my immediate family, my Christian family, my College Now family and everyone who supported me along the way. I would also like to thank UMass Dartmouth and all the teachers who pushed me to succeed.
