"Turn your dreams into visions, and turn your visions into reality."
What were you involved with at UMass Dartmouth? How have your experiences changed you?

While at UMass Dartmouth I had the opportunity to study in both Thailand and Costa Rica. Study abroad has played a major part in my life. It not only taught me the importance and value of diversity, tolerance, and acceptance—but the value of loving myself for exactly who I am.

I was also a general member of MassPirg, working with the Hunger and Homeless campaign. In 2009, I started my own organization, the Cash Flow Financial Literacy Club. I was also a peer counselor for College Now for three years. In this role, I assisted students as a tutor and mentor.

What advice would you like to share with future students?

Do you what you love and be yourself. Don’t stress yourself out in a major because you believe you would make more money. It’s better to major in what you would enjoy doing.

Your life lies in your owns hands, and only you can create your future. Use your resources, such as your professors, to help you find internships. Try studying abroad. Furthermore, know what you want and set goals. Finally, turn your dreams into visions, and turn your visions into reality.

Who would you like to thank?

It wasn’t always easy making the decisions I made throughout college. I would like to thank my family, College Now, and my friends for believing in me. They all encouraged me to never give up and to never settle for less. It’s because of their support I can proudly say I’m a college graduate.
