"It's amazing to see the distance the College Now staff will go to make sure the minority and marginal students get a chance at education. Goals are the fuel in the furnace, and College Now is the spark that starts that fire."
What advice do you have for students?
Enjoy your successes because you have earned them. Understand that happiness comes from the realization that you have accomplished something spectacular.
What have you learned from your experiences with other students?
I have held many leadership positions in which I have learned to communicate and provide better service to others. For example, I'm a peer counselor for College Now, where I help other College Now students build relationships with their professors.
Who are your favorite professors?
Right now, Bill William Holt and J. Conboy; both psychology professors. I just love their teaching style and method. They get the students involved.
What are you plans after graduation?
My plan is to do an internship at a law firm, study for the LSAT, and work. I intend to go to law school next fall, and I'd like to graduate by the time I'm twenty-five. I'm looking at schools in Boston like Boston University, Suffolk, or Northeastern, but my LSAT scores will determine where I go.
How has the psychology major prepared you for life outside the university?
Connecting my experiences and knowledge to the workplace is very intriguing to me, and I believe that my passion and hard work will shine through as I step into the real world.
