"I had thought there wasn't too much in the area, but soon found everything I needed or wanted to be within 15 minutes of campus, and most of the time, much closer"
Why did you choose UMass Dartmouth?
The people here are what really made my decision for me. Whatever I'm doing, I have fun. The atmosphere on campus is relaxed and friendly, but our students know how to get down to business when it's necessary.
What do you like the best about the campus?
I like the large green campus, but relatively small student population. I can walk everywhere on campus. The university is also very close to some large cities so I can get the rural and urban experience at the same time.
How have you changed since entering college?
I feel that college has really opened me up and allowed me to grow. I wasn't necessarily the best student in high school, but here I do better than I ever could have imagined. Everyone and everything about this campus has helped me succeed so far.
What surprised you most about UMass Dartmouth?
The architecture, which is normally what puts people off about the school, but I find it interesting and attractive. I also enjoy all the intricacies and rumors about the architecture and its architect. I feel it gives the school character.
How do you deal with the stresses of college life?
Laughing and having a good time keeps me sane and happy, and I love to just relax and smile.
What are your plans after graduation?
I would love to attend grad school or law school. My ideal plan would be to move to D.C., get an administrative job at a campus like George Washington, and continue school.
