"I participated in a two year exchange program . . . It’s a chance to study abroad while earning two degrees."

Have you been involved with any sports at UMass Dartmouth?
Varsity softball. Even though I only got the chance to play for two years—before I studied abroad—I loved every minute of it. The team becomes a family with the amount of time we spend together at practice and during games. Playing softball helped teach me how to work hard and not give up. Also, the spring training trip to Florida is a blast.

Tell us about a great experience or opportunity you've had here at UMass Dartmouth?
I participated in a two year exchange program where ten other students and I spend a semester each at UMass Dartmouth; UMass Boston; Frankfurt, Germany; and Kemi-Tornio, Finland. It gives us the chance to study abroad while earning two degrees. Also, all the people in the program are nice and helpful in their home institutions. The experience has been amazing!

What has been your greatest challenge?
Choosing a major. Entering school I had no idea what I wanted to do for a career. There were so many different options in so many different fields. In the end I chose the 101 class that I enjoyed the most: management information systems.

What's your plan for after graduation?
First, I'll complete an internship and a bachelor thesis to get my foreign degree. Then, I plan to find a job where I'll hopefully work for a couple years before I go to grad school and get a master's in information security.

What advice do you have for incoming students?
Some people think UMD is a commuter school. Yes, the school has commuters—but many people also live here and are around every weekend. Stay the weekends at school, and you'll make friends and have a great time at UMD.
