"The Computer Science program has great professors and TAs who help me with my classes and prepare me to be a professional in my field."

How does your major fit into your life's plan?

All my life, I've dreamed of working with computers. By coming to the United States and attending UMass Dartmouth, I knew that I could fulfill this dream. The computer science program has great professors and TAs who help me with my classes and prepare me to be a professional in my field.

What's your favorite spot on campus and why?

The Claire T. Carney Library is like a second home to me. Seeing all the other students in the library studying and doing homework motivates me to work hard and spend more time doing school work.

What's a great experience you've had at UMass Dartmouth?

The greatest experience I've had at UMass Dartmouth was working as a peer counselor for the College Now office. My parents raised me with the belief that we must constantly strive to touch the lives of the people around us. I always believed that by helping others, we could make our community a better place. I enjoy being a part of the College Now program because it has helped me grow personally through helping others.

What's your plan for after graduation?

After receiving my bachelor's in computer science, I'd like to pursue a master's degree to help build my portfolio and gain valuable practical experience. I will work hard and try my best to fulfill my parents' dreams.

What advice do you have for incoming students?

Take advantage of every opportunity that you can at UMass Dartmouth. Find a part-time job, join clubs, talk with professors, get help from tutoring departments, and make your own study groups.
