"I have learned the meaning of hard work, and I have seen what can become of it."
What makes UMass Dartmouth special?
If I had to say that one thing makes UMass Dartmouth special, it would be the cement. Many people come to UMass Dartmouth and hate the way it looks and hate the fact that it is made completely out of cement. But for me, the cement is what gives this campus character, and it is what makes it unique. I would like to challenge people who come here and see just cement to take a closer look at the amazing students, professors, and administrators that hide behind the grey walls.
What organizations did you belong to at UMass Dartmouth?
Something that I got involved with on campus that has changed me is Greek Life. As a founding member of Iota Delta Nu Local Sorority, I have seen this community go through many changes. Through this, I have learned a lot about myself and who I want to become after college. I have learned the meaning of hard work and I have seen what can become of it. I have made so many amazing friends that I know I can count on in the future. Greek life on our campus has grown in leaps and bounds, and I am very proud to say that I am a part of it.
What advice do you have for future students?
One piece of advice I would like to give to future students is to get involved--whether it be in one thing or as many things as possible--because making a difference on this campus starts with being a leader. Becoming a student leader on this campus is not hard to do, but many students do not take the chance and do not get to reap the benefits that leadership provides.
Who would you like to thank?
I would like to thank my family, friends, professors, administrators, and everyone else in between for a great four years. I have had the time of my life and I owe it all to you!
