"There are so many people here that are willing to help you find your place in the world . . ."

What are your plans following graduation?
I'll be attending Bowling Green State University to study for my master's degree in college student personnel. It's one of the top programs in the country, and I'm really humbled by my acceptance. I plan on using my political science and African-American studies foundation to write about making pluralism and diversity work in higher education.
What organizations did you belong to at UMass Dartmouth?
For me, being involved as a resident assistant and brother of Sigma Phi Rho fraternity stand out. Being an RA was a great opportunity for me to be a resource for my fellow students. As a brother of Sigma Phi Rho, I gained a great support system in the young and intelligent men of Sigma Phi Rho. Both experiences aided in my growth of character and enriched my experience here at UMD.
What makes UMass Dartmouth special?
There are so many people here that are willing to help you find your place in the world--professionally, or just here on campus. The staff is awesome, and the faculty are good too.
What advice would you like to share with future students?
Make the most of your time here. You only get one shot at college, so make the most of it. I have been so involved in a myriad of experiences, and I wouldn't change anything. Have fun and learn.
Who would you like to thank?
I have to thank my Mom and Dad first since they put me on this earth. Then I would have to thank all of my mentors: DaJaun Owens, Alicia Salerno, Dr. Milstone, Mary Beckwith, my (fraternity) brothers, Dr. Barber, Dr. Roscoe, and my friends especially.
