"We all are starting a new chapter in our lives, and everything we want we're going to have to work for and earn."
Tell us about something you're involved with here and how it's changed you.
I play lacrosse and it has made a difference in my experience at UMass Dartmouth. It keeps me involved, and I've made some of my best friends through the team. It has taught me to manage my time so much better by balancing academics and lacrosse at the same time. Playing makes me feel good about myself because I know I am staying in shape while doing something I love.
Why did you choose to attend UMass Dartmouth?
I chose UMass Dartmouth because it has a good college of business, and because it has a Division III women's lacrosse team. It's also in the perfect location and far enough away from home.
What have you learned from residence life?
I've learned that college is one step closer to the real world, and we are all responsible for ourselves. Living away from home has made me realize that everything isn't going to be handed to me. We all are starting a new chapter in our lives and everything we want we're going to have to work for and earn.
What advice do you have for incoming students?
College is going to be the fastest four years of your life so make the best out of all of them because you don't want to leave here having regrets. Keep your studies your main priority because that's why you're here, be involved with something that the school offers, and attend activities because it makes your experience here so much better. Your time here is what you make of it, so have fun!
