"Join clubs, meet new people, try new things and don't be afraid."
How does your major fit into your life's plan?
My major is a perfect fit for my future. Currently I'm trying to be accepted into the Secret Service and CIA training programs. I hope to become a forensic accountant for either of these organizations.
Tell us about something you're involved with here and how it's changed you.
I'm currently the Secretary of the Accounting Student Association. Being given responsibility of the club has shown me how I'll need to prioritize my life after graduation.
What has been your greatest challenge?
My greatest challenge has been time management. All the way back in freshman year, I almost blew it. I never had time to do anything, but then I realized I just didn't organize my time properly. One of my RA's had a lecture on time management, and from then on I've been using the tips I learned from that lecture. Now I have time for just about everything.
What's your plan for after graduation?
I plan on sitting for the CPA exam and will eventually go to graduate school for financial accounting or forensic accounting.
What advice do you have for incoming students?
I believe right now that incoming students shouldn't be afraid to fail. Your greatest success in life and college will come if you are a person who is willing to try new things and not be afraid of succeeding in them. Join clubs, meet new people, try new things, and don't be afraid.
