Campus Wind Turbine Project

In February, UMass Dartmouth took the first steps toward a wind turbine project when we constructed a "Met Tower" (meteorological tower). We will collect wind speed data for approximately one year to determine the feasability installing a large wind turbine on campus. When paired with the student-driven rooftop turbine project, we hope to have a fairly accurate reading on the potential for wind power on campus.
