The Net Impact UMass Dartmouth chapter is a network of students and professionals sharing commitment to advancing sustainable business practices. Our chapter is part of Net Impact, an international membership organization of over 10,000 members on 6 continents and in over 90 countries.
Net Impact UMass Dartmouth's goal is to implement activities that focus on the following areas:
- Curriculum Change
The goals of the Curriculum Change program are to empower students to make curricular recommendations by leveraging best practices from classroom & work experiences, and connecting members with other schools working towards the same goals. - Campus Greening
Net Impact Central's Campus Greening Initiative (CGI) helps student members put their beliefs into action through campus sustainability efforts. The goals of the CGI are to use business skills to improve universities' impact on the environment, as well as to raise awareness of environmental problems and solutions among emerging business leaders. - Professional Development
The Net Impact Professional Development Program provides its members with career and educational resources focused on responsible leadership and sustainable business practices. The Net Impact UMass Dartmouth Chapter encourages its members to employ their professional skills to benefit society and local community through participation in sustainability initiatives, social entrepreneurship, community advocacy projects, etc. - Community Impact
The Net Impact Community Impact Programs encompass a range of activities for members to use their business skills to make a difference in the communities where they live. The principal aspect of the Community Impact Program is Service Corps, which is a capacity building program connecting members to local non-profits where they can apply their strengths in finance, accounting, strategy and marketing. A key component of Service Corps is the exposure of chapter members to non-profit management issues.
