Sustainability Resources

The Office of Campus and Community Sustainability is a respository for sustainaiblity-related resources and connections. For hands-on materials, we keep a library of relevant books and videos for anyone looking to increase their knowledge about sustainability issus from the perspectives of the best and brightest communicators publishing and broadcasting today.

Perhaps our most powerful tool for staying current with sustainability news is our free weekly emailed journal, the Sustainability Almanac. This publication rounds up the most recently released articles in the realm of global, national and local sustainability. It includes a calendar for getting involved in fun and informative happenings within Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

The University also completed in 2011 it's campus sustainability assessment and carbon reduction plan. This couple-hundred page illustrated book is available for download. It acts as a primer for sustainability's most frequently discussed topics such as food, water, recycling and waste. It also includes recommendations for further studies and discussions with each chapter. The unique organization Clean Air / Cool Planet recommends our assessment, entitled Responsibility and Renewal, as a model for how such self-analysis should ideally be done.
