Welcome to Sustainability Studies at UMass Dartmouth
Sustainability Studies at UMass Dartmouth offers students the opportunity to be both a scholar and practitioner. Our curriculum offers a theoretical view of sustainability, as well as participation in real-world applications, including assessments of our campus and local communities.
Sustainability Studies is populated by a dedicated group of faculty and staff from all of our colleges, making UMass Dartmouth a rare nexus of perspectives on sustainable development across subject matters. The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education promotes this more challenging approach to sustainability education as necessary for graduates to grapple with the needs of a changing world. It also positions UMass Dartmouth to be an effective leader for regional change, and to contribute to international efforts.
