Be ready to pay the non-refundable application fee online using MasterCard or Visa ($40 for Massachusetts residents; $60 for all others). We cannot accept a mailed check or a fee waiver for the UMass Dartmouth online application--please use the paper application or the Common Application.
Information you'll need
- Personal information, including social security number and family information
- Your residency information
- Your emergency contact information
- Your high school attendance and graduation dates
- If you are a permanent resident: your green card number
- If you are an international applicant: your visa status
- If you have attended other colleges before applying to UMass Dartmouth: attendance dates and (if applicable) graduation dates
Notes
- Please review your information when given the chance before submitting the application; you cannot make corrections to your application after you submit it. If you must make a correction later, contact Admissions
- Use "mixed case" when entering proper name information; for example, use Jane Doe not JANE DOE or jane doe

After you complete the online application, we still need to receive by mail the items listed below.
Please write your name and your student identification number on every item you send in the mail. (You will receive your identification number from the Admissions Office after you apply online.) Mail materials to:

Freshman applicants
- An official transcript from your high school
- If your SAT or ACT scores do not appear on your official high school transcript, be sure to request that the College Board send them to UMass Dartmouth
- An essay or personal statement of up to 500 words on a topic of your choice
- Two letters of recommendation from teachers or guidance counselors

Transfer applicants
- Official transcripts from all institutions previously attended (official high school transcript only if you are applying with less than 30 transferable college credits)
- An essay or personal statement
- Information about current courses and catalog descriptions of previous courses

International applicants 
In addition to the application for admission, the following are required:
- A transcript of high school courses and grades, translated into English
- Results of the SAT or ACT
- Results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), unless the student has attended a school in which the language of instruction is English for at least one year; more information
- Declaration and Certification of Finances form (PDF file)
- An essay or personal statement
- For students being sponsored by agencies, companies, or other organizations: an affidavit of support, signed by an appropriate official
