Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs

The Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs will report directly to the Chancellor and as the chief academic officer of the university, oversees a vibrant academic enterprise that is made up of eight colleges and schools, as well as a growing online and continuing education unit. The Provost leads, supports and advocates for a talented and diverse faculty of dedicated scholars and teachers, comprised of 280 tenure-line faculty, 11 non-tenure track faculty and 272 full- and part-time teaching faculty in 35 academic departments. In keeping with UMass Dartmouth’s mission of promoting engaged teaching and learning, innovative research, and student success, the Provost will uphold high standards for academic programs, scholarship and research practice; advance diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts across the institution; promote sustained enrollment growth; and further strengthen UMass Dartmouth’s national profile and reputation.

Dear UMass Dartmouth Faculty and Staff,

As we head into the holiday weekend, we write with a brief update on the Provost Search. The Committee has reviewed all applications for the role of Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and has conducted first-round interviews. 
 
We are pleased to announce that the Committee has forwarded two finalists for full-day campus interviews next week, on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 28 and 29. Information about the finalists and the time and location of their public presentations are available on the Provost Search website. We hope that you will make time to attend and share your feedback with the Committee.
 
We look forward to seeing you at these sessions next week and hope you have a very Happy Thanksgiving with family and friends.
