Corporate Involvement

As affiliates, companies can participate in business excellence programs in a number of ways. Their involvement in Center initiatives, classrooms activities, and/or recruitment of students helps us to deliver programs that meet business community needs. Specific ways to get involved include:

  • BIRC events sponsorship
  • Internships and recruiting of students
  • Classroom participation to bring "real-world" expertise to students‌
  • Sponsoring and participating in faculty research
  • Sponsoring student enterprise projects

Industry Partnerships will allow researchers at UMass Dartmouth to work closely with members from local companies to shape and prioritize research topics such as IT, costing, logistics and supply chain management. The following elements describe the Center's multilevel relationship framework:

  • Collaborative research
  • Graduate training and recruiting
  • Undergraduate training and recruiting
  • Executive education
  • Sponsored education

BIRC has multiple stakeholders including industry partners, faculty, and students. By creating a forum for the exchange of ideas and leading-‌edge expertise, the Center will serve as a catalyst for the development and delivery of educational and research programs in a variety of business disciplines.
