February 22, 2005 Largest Estuaries Project in Commonwealth History Nears Halfway Point A $1.2-million award has been received by the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to finance the 2005 segment of the largest estuaries project in the Commonwealth's history. The award is part of a $12.5-million project that began in 2002.

December 20, 2004 Slots At Ma Tracks Will Generate $300 Million If state leaders next year approve 1,000 slot machines at each Massachusetts racetrack, the four tracks will generate at least $300 million, according to a preliminary review by the Center for Policy Analysis (CPA) at the University of Massachusetts/Dartmouth. Estimates show that the 4,000 slots will also capture $100 million from Rhode Islands two slot parlors --- Lincoln Park and Newport Grand.
