November 6, 2003 Oceanserver Technology Inc. Forms New Company Fall River, MA The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth announced today that a newly formed company, OceanServer Technology, Inc., opened a research & development office at its Advanced Technology and Manufacturing Center (ATMC) located in Fall River. OceanServer Technology develops and manufactures embedded instruments, sensors, and other computer-based subsystems for use in the marine environment. The company?s first product is a navigation device that will be field tested later this year.

October 30, 2003 Two Umass Dartmouth Alumni Featured In "Natural Forces" Art Show Dartmouth, MA Maynard, MA Catherine Carter and Cheryl Clinton, two University of Massachusetts Dartmouth alumni, are featured in the "Natural Forces: Three Artists Experience the Landscape" exhibit, showing from October 22-November 21, 2003 at the Art Space-Maynard Gallery (Maynard, MA). Each of the artists draws on natural forces for the imagery in her work.

October 22, 2003 Umass Dartmouth Chosen To Participate In 2005 Solar Decathalon; Kick-Off Event Scheduled Dartmouth, MA The National Renewable Energy Laboratory of the U.S. Department of Energy has chosen the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth to participate in the 2005 Solar Decathlon. A kick-off event was held Wednesday, October 22, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. in room 308 (third floor) of the UMass Dartmouth Foster Administration building. The UMass Dartmouth Chancellor, the Executive Director of Washington D.C. Habitat for Humanity, a representative of the Massachusetts Renewable Energy Trust, a Department of Energy representative, representatives of national sponsors for the Solar Decathlon (such as Home Depot), and elected officials were in attendance.
