General Education requirement: Cult & Art Literacy/Global

Survey of Africa's modern history, beginning especially after 1800. It looks at the beginnings and expansions of European and African-American settlements there, the Zulu and Islamic Revolutions, the conquest and colonization of Africa, and post-colonial developments.
