IAD 302: Int Arch&Dsgn VI: Institution

Prerequisite: IAD 301

Concentrating on institutional design projects, this course presents the student with large-scale design problems with challenging code and functional issues, which must be treated creatively and competently. Emphasis is placed on maintenance, equipment requirements, budgetary considerations, code concerns and human factors as they relate to the physical, psychological and emotional responses people have to the spaces they use. Notes: Workload per week: two hours of lecture, four hours of studio and nine hours of homework. Prerequisite: IAD 301 or, if transfer student, studio closest to sequence.
