COVID-19 Testing Information

All students who live on campus or have at least one face-to-face course on campus are required to be tested for COVID-19 weekly. Schedule your appointment through the UMass Dartmouth Health Services Patient Portal.

Please take a few minutes to watch the Returning to UMassD video that covers requirements and best practices like self-monitoring for symptoms, social distancing, cleaning and disinfecting, and the use of face coverings.

Staff Resources

Before you travel to campus, the University encourages you to complete our online Daily Symptom Checker. The online symptom checker can be accessed via the Health Services Patient Portal using your UMassD login credentials.

If you answer yes to any of the questions indicating possible COVID symptoms, you are asked to stay home and immediately contact your supervisor or HR. You will then be contacted by a Health Services provider with instructions on the next steps to protect your health.

Employees who have jobs that are suitable for working remotely are encouraged to work from home. Department heads, in consultation with division heads, will determine which employees have work that is suitable for a remote work arrangement. Employees whose job functions require on campus presence, will continue to report to campus.

In accordance with CDC guidelines, all operations that interact with individuals in person are to keep a contact log. To ensure continuity of data in the contact log the University has created a boiler plate to be used. Please download a copy of the UMassD Contract Tracing Sign-In Sheet that should be used by all operations that provide services that require in person interaction. The log is to be kept each day the operation is open and saved in a file.

Protocol for Cleaning Supplies

If you do report to campus, it is also important to keep frequently touched surfaces clean. Use commercially available wipes or other disinfectants, but do not bring industrial cleaners or solvents to work. Some products, while safe when used by themselves, can be very dangerous when mixed with other products. The Center for Disease Control (CD) has issued comprehensive Steps to Prevent Illness with additional information. Remember that if you are feeling sick - stay home and immediately contact your primary care doctor or appropriate healthcare provider.

Staff can access COVID-19 Resources such as cleaning supplies and safety signage via the employee portal.

Families First Coronavirus Response Act

The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) expands coverage under the well-known Family & Medical Leave Act to include coverage for employees who cannot work (on-site or remotely) because they:

  1. are subject to a Federal, State, or local quarantine or isolation order related to COVID-19;
  2. have been advised by a health care provider to self-quarantine related to COVID-19;
  3. are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and are seeking a medical diagnosis;
  4. are caring for an individual subject to a quarantine or isolation order or who has been advised by a healthcare provider to self-quarantine related to COVID-19;
  5. are caring for his or her child whose school or place of care is closed (or childcare provider is unavailable) due to COVID-19 related reasons; or
  6. are experiencing any other substantially similar condition specified by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services

The act also provides for at least partial paid leave—depending on the reasons for the leave and the duration of the leave. Please review the document below to learn more.



Receiving & Deliveries

Due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the UMassD Dartmouth Receiving Department has taken certain safety measures as recommended by the CDC and Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Central Receiving will still be open Monday through Friday, but hours of operation will be limited from 8:00 am-12:00 noon. Deliveries will only be made on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays unless there are rush or perishable packages. To minimize contact, each department will be contacted by phone or email to schedule deliveries when offices can be emptied. If any departments are expecting large orders that need freight shipment and or the use of a forklift, please inform the shipping company that those deliveries will only be accepted on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays before noon. If a freight company is unable to work with this schedule, have them contact Central Receiving to schedule shipment.
