Sculpture Facilities

The Sculpture program provides comprehensive studios for fabrication and art-making in nearly any material and process. Spaces are flexible, to accommodate student interests and aspirations for their sculpture. Primary work spaces include the wood shop, metal fabrication studio, mold making and wet work studios, and a lost wax casting foundry.

Comprehensive and fully equipped wood shop, including:

  • Table saws
  • Planers
  • Jointers
  • Spindle sanders
  • Belt sanders
  • Drill press
  • Range of bandsaws
  • Lathes
  • Wide array of hand tools accessible to students

Comprehensive and fully equipped metal fabrication studio for work using steel, aluminum and stainless metals, including:

  • MIG, TIG, Arc welders
  • Plasma cutters
  • Chop saws
  • Drill press
  • Range of grinding and finishing equipment
  • Metal bandsaws, upright and horizontal
  • Sandblasters

Mold-making & wet-work studios: flexible facilities to accommodate all mold-making processes from plaster through rubber mold making of any scale

Lost-wax casting foundry, including equipment for bronze and aluminum casting located at the CVPA main campus building:

  • Comprehensive safety equipment & supplies
  • Large burnout car-kiln
  • Hydrolic lift
