Kristi received a BFA from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in Art Education and Painting/2-Dimensional Studies, then went on to obtain a MFA from Boston University in Art Education, and completed a CAGS in Creative Arts and Education from Fitchburg State University.  Kristi is currently a doctoral candidate at Lesley University where her study includes contemporary photography, visual literacy, and 21st century learning. She has over a decade of experience teaching high school, and has taught several courses including traditional darkroom photography as well as Advanced Placement Studio Art and Portfolio.  

Kristi currently teaches in the graduate and undergraduate programs in Art Education in the College of Visual & Performing Arts at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. She also acts a placement coordinator for student teaching and capstone field placements. Kristi acts as the Program Director for Art All-State and is proud to provide an inspirational, collaborative art-making experience for high school juniors.  

Kristi frequently presents at both state and national conferences, and is currently the Past-President of the Massachusetts Art Education Association. Kristi was honored to act as one of two delegates at the annual delegates assembly of the National Art Education Association representing art educators from across the Commonwealth. She is also an active member of the Professional Learning through Research Working Group of the National Art Education Association’s Research Commission. Kristi also sits on the education committee as well as the Board of the New Bedford Art Museum/ArtWorks! 

In 2014 Kristi was honored to receive the Outstanding Arts Advocate in Art Education Award by Arts|Learning. Kristi has has also been awarded the Massachusetts Secondary Art Educator of the Year Award in 2011 and the Massachusetts Art Educator of the Year in 2012.
