Students learn the fundamentals of microprocessor technology including instruction set architectures, memory hierarchy design, and input/output functions. Practical applications apply this technology toward the design of systems involving data collection, automatic control, and operator interfaces. Emphasis is placed on hands-on program development using a microcontroller.
