At present, the Library is open (M-F, 7:30AM-5PM) and subject librarians, while working remotely, are reachable via chat, email, and Zoom. Find library resources and support for teaching online.
If you need a particular resource for your course that does not appear to be available in digital form, please submit an Emergency Library Materials Request form and the Library will try to get what is needed as quickly as possible.
Open textbooks are textbooks that have been funded, published, and licensed to be freely used, adapted, and distributed. These books have been reviewed by faculty from a variety of colleges and universities to assess their quality. These books can be downloaded for no cost, or printed at low cost. All textbooks are either used at multiple higher education institutions; or affiliated with an institution, scholarly society, or professional organization. The library currently includes 703 textbooks. The Open Textbook Library is supported by the Center for Open Education and the Open Textbook Network.
Cengage is providing students and faculty the option to use their online homework platforms at no charge for the rest of the term. Cengage is offering UMass Dartmouth students complete and free access to Cengage Unlimited, which will give them access to their entire catalog of eBooks and online homework platforms.
If you are interested in Cengage's offer, for the remainder of this term, please contact Casey Harkins, Account Executive at Cengage (contact information below). Once you have made arrangements with Cengage, go to myCourses and select the (Cengage) Partner Context to connect your course to publisher materials. Quizzes, homework, and test modules live on the Publisher web site. Students are connected through myCourses to access publisher materials. All graded content is sent back into the myCourses gradebook. Technical support is provided to students by Cengage, not CITS.
