Careers and further study

The civil and environmental engineering program at UMass Dartmouth is designed to prepare the student to enter the profession upon graduation. The program also includes the theoretical background necessary for graduate study.

Recent graduates have continued their studies at Princeton University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cornell University, UMass Amherst, and the University of Rhode Island.

Companies that have hired recent graduates of the UMass Dartmouth civil engineering program include Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation, Camp Dresser & McKee, Inc., CH2M Hill Corporation, and Tibbetts Engineering Corporation. Also, a number of graduates are working for the Environmental Protection Agency and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Quality.

Graduates can choose to work for themselves, work in the public or private sector, or pursue graduate studies.
