Topic: Breaking the Cyber Failure Cycle: Root Causes and Solutions for Effective Enterprise Cyber Risk Management
Speaker: Bob Chaput, Executive Chairman, Clearwater Security, St. Petersburg, Florida
Abstract:
Mr. Chaput will discuss the effectiveness of cybersecurity and compliance approaches and focus on three root causes underlying the general failure of today's approaches in most organizations in all industries. He will recommend what organizations can do to address these root causes to establish, implement, and mature more robust enterprise cyber risk management (ECRM) programs and cybersecurity strategies. He will use the national critical infrastructure's healthcare and public health (HPH) sector to illustrate the life-and-death importance of stronger ECRM and cybersecurity solutions.
Biography:
Bob Chaput, author of two books Enterprise Cyber Risk Management as a Value Creator and Stop the Cyber Bleeding, founded Clearwater Security, a leading provider of security services, where he now serves as executive chairman. With over 40 years of experience, he advises Fortune 100 companies and government agencies. Chaput educates industry leaders through articles, presentations and webinars and holds numerous professional certifications. His work has been featured in major publications like Modern Healthcare and The Wall Street Journal and has been recognized by CyberCrime Magazine as a 2024 Cybersecurity Pundit. He is a member of the IANS Research Faculty and is an instructor at the University of Texas (UT) Austin.
