DESCRIPTION:Carnaval Festival is a cultural celebration highlighting the tr
aditions, music, dance, and joy of Carnaval across Lusophone countries. Al
though traditionally celebrated either February or March, this out-of-seas
on Carnaval Fest will feature music, dance, interactive activities and opp
ortunities for attendees to engage with Lusophone traditions in an accessi
ble and welcoming environment. Carnaval is, for sure, one of the most sign
ificant and widely celebrated cultural holidays across luso-countries, wit
h emphasis in Brazil, Portugal and Cape Verde (the ones we have representa
tives in UMD). It’s a time to celebrate community, resistance, identity
and history! This event is organized and hosted by Lusophone Student Union
, a club for students made by students. All our meetings and events are op
en to the entire UMass Dartmouth community, including students, faculty an
 d staff. \nEvent page: https://www.umassd.edu/events/cms/carnaval-fest.ph
