DESCRIPTION:Topic: "Hands-on 5G Wireless Network Modeling Workshop”  Abs
tract: The 5G Network Modeling Workshop offers hands-on exercises designed
to teach the end-to-end 5G network modeling workflow in MATLAB.  With mi
nimal coding effort, you’ll be able to create a 5G scenario.   This inc
ludes configuring various 5G network nodes, defining their positions, addi
ng mobility and traffic models, and specifying the channel model.  You wi
ll be able to simulate the 5G scenario, visualize network behavior, and ev
aluate performance metrics.  Biography: Mike McLernon is an advocate for
communications and software-defined radio products at MathWorks.  Since j
oining MathWorks in 2001, he has overseen the development of numerous PHY
layer capabilities in Communications Toolbox, and of connectivity to multi
ple SDR hardware platforms.  He has worked in the communications field fo
r over 35 years, in both the satellite and wireless industries.  Mike rec
eived his BSEE from the University of Virginia and his MEEE from Rensselae
r Polytechnic Institute.  He is a senior member of the IEEE. NOTE: All EC
E Graduate Students are ENCOURAGED to attend. All interested parties are i
nvited to attend. Open to the public.  *For further information, please c
