Charles D. Baker II Scholarship

Applicants must be currently enrolled as a full-time student UMass Dartmouth; maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, and be a permanent resident of Massachusetts and U.S. citizen. Open to all majors.

Bertram Berger Boston Society of Civil Engineers Scholarship

Candidates for this award must be matriculated in the Civil and Environmental Engineering program at UMD. Must be full time junior or senior. Successful candidates will demonstrate a record of leadership and participation in the community and/or the University, and demonstrate academic achievement. Financial need is also considered.

William M. Bulger Presidential Scholarship

This scholarship is to provide recognition of and financial assistance to outstanding UMass students.

To be eligible for this scholarship, student must meet the following criteria:

  • Be currently enrolled full-time at one of the UMass campuses: Amherst, Boston, Dartmouth, Lowell, or Worcester
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 with a minimum of 12 credits earned at UMass
  • Be a permanent resident of Massachusetts
  • Open to all majors

The scholarship is awarded for one year and is renewable for up to three years. A GPA of 3.25 and full-time enrollment status must be maintained throughout the duration of the scholarship.

William M. Bulger Presidential Scholarship Application

Robert L Caret Scholarship

To support an outstanding Chemistry major who demonstrates financial need and/or academic excellence.  This scholarship will rotate campuses each year.  UMass Dartmouth will be awarded for AY 18/19.

A 2018-19 FAFSA completed by March 1 will automatically allow students who meet eligibility requirements to be considered for this scholarship. 

Connell Family Scholarship

To support a graduate of any public or private high school in Lynn or Swampsoctt, MA.  Preference given to a St. Mary's High School graduate in Lynn or a transfer student from North Shore Community College.  Must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office and Academic Excellence.

A 2019-20 FAFSA completed by March 1 will automatically allow students who meet eligibility requirements to be considered for this scholarship. 

CourionCares UMass Scholarship

This scholarship is to provide special recognition to a UMass Dartmouth undergraduate student who demonstrates academic excellence and financial need. In order to be considered, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled full time at UMass Dartmouth
  • Possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Earned a minimum of fifteen (15) credits at UMass
  • Filed a FAFSA with demonstrated financial need of at least $2,000;
  • Be a permanent resident of Massachusetts.
Preference is for computer science or engineering majors.

Steven & Anne Dodge Scholarship

To support a full-time undergraduate student who demonstrates financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office.

A 2019-20 FAFSA completed by March 1 will automatically allow students who meet eligibility requirements to be considered for this scholarship. 

Grace K. Fey Scholarship

This scholarship was created to provide recognition of and financial assistance to an outstanding student at a sponsoring UMass campus.  To be considered, recipients must meet the following criteria:

  • enrolled full time at UMass Dartmouth
  • matriculated sophomore in the Fall 2017 semester
  • permanent resident of Massachusetts;
  • cumulative GPA of 3.5 earned at UMass.
Open to all majors with preference given to mathematics, sciences and nursing.

Charles J. Hoff Scholarship Program

For full time Massachusetts residents who have completed 24 or more credits towards an undergraduate degree by the end of Spring 2017, and who possess a minimum GPA of 3.25. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits each semester and demonstrate financial need.

Award is renewable on a semester basis contingent upon satisfactory academic performance and continued financial aid eligibility. The maximum length of the award is six semesters.

James J. Karam Scholarship Fund

This fund is to provide scholarships to deserving students who meet the following requirements:

  • Enrolled full-time and matriculated
  • Maintain full-time status for the duration of this scholarship
  • Possess a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better with a minimum of 12 credits earned at UMass Dartmouth
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Reside permanently in Acushnet, Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Fall River, Freetown, New Bedford, Somerset, Swansea, Westport or Tiverton, RI

This scholarship is renewable up to a total of four years. Students are required to apply for renewal each academic year.

Invitation to apply for this scholarship will be sent from the UMass Dartmouth Financial Aid Office.

Robert S. Karam Scholarship

Provide financial assistance to motivated students from Lebanon and/or alumni of Durfee High School who are serious about their education and are in need of financial assistance.

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Graduated from B M C Durfee High School in Fall River, Massachusetts; or be from Lebanon or be the child or grandchild of someone who is or was a citizen of Lebanon
  • Attained Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior status
  • Possess minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Demonstrate personal financial contribution toward educational costs

Preference will be given to business and engineering majors.

Invitation to apply for this scholarship will be mailed from the UMass President’s Office.

Myra Kraft Community Leadership Scholarship Fund

This scholarship will honor the late Myra Hiatt Kraft by providing financial support to deserving UMass undergraduate students who are actively involved in community service.

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a matriculated junior for the fall 2017 semester at UMass Dartmouth
  • Volunteer at least two (2) hours per week at a charitable organization
  • Be a permanent resident of Massachusetts.
This scholarship is open to any major. This is a one-year award and is not renewable.

Rosalind A. Matthews Scholarship

The Rosalind A. Matthews Scholarship Endowment Fund (Fund) was established in 1988 to honor the late Rosalind A. Matthews, a former Trustee of the University of Massachusetts (UMass).  The Fund provides an annual scholarship award for up to four years (for renewal of the scholarship, Rosalind A. Matthews Scholars must maintain eligibility requirements) with the purpose of encouraging disadvantaged students to pursue an education that leads to a career in business.  

Rosalind A. Matthews was appointed to the UMass Board of Trustees in 1985.  Her career included many distinctions in the corporate sector and in public service.  She began her career at Textron, Inc. and held a variety of positions at John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company.  She was dedicated to youth and education and was the recipient of the Exceptional Service Award from former President Jimmy Carter. 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible for the Rosalind A. Matthews Scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be an admitted freshman or a transfer student admitted to the participating undergraduate campuses, including UMass Amherst, UMass Boston, UMass Dartmouth or UMass Lowell.
  • Be enrolled in the School of Management.
  • Be a resident of Massachusetts.
  • Have an overall GPA of 3.25.
  • Preference to students with inner city background and graduates of Boston Public Schools.

Application for admission and subsequent acceptance to UMD will automatically allow students to be considered. Students must have a completed 2018-19 FAFSA on file.

Rick Pitino Scholarship

To Support a Graduate or Undergraduate student in the honors program.  Must be a resident of Massachusetts.

Putnam UMass Scholars Program

The Putnam UMass scholarship will provide recognition of and financial assistance to an outstanding student at a sponsoring UMass campus. To be considered, recipients must be enrolled full time at UMass Dartmouth; be a matriculated sophomore, junior or senior during the 2017-2018 academic year; and must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0.

John Smith Scholarship

To support a graduate or undergraduate student in the honors program.  Must be a resident of Massachusetts.

A 2019-20 FAFSA completed by March 1 will automatically allow students who meet eligibility requirements to be considered for this scholarship. 

UMass Club Academic Excellence Scholarship

This award was established in 2011 to provide special recognition to a UMass undergraduate student who demonstrates academic excellence. Student must maintain a GPA of 3.25 and full time status throughout the duration of the scholarship. The scholarship is awarded for one year and is non-renewable.

Jack M. Wilson Presidential Scholarship Fund

The Jack M. Wilson Scholarship was founded to provide special recognition to a full time UMass Dartmouth student who demonstrates academic excellence and a passion for public service.

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be matriculated in a degree program at UMass Dartmouth
  • Possess a cumulative GPA of 3.25, with a minimum of fifteen (15) credits earned at UMass
  • Preference for Business, Engineering, and Physics majors. Preference for students of any major studying abroad

The scholarship is awarded for one year. GPA of 3.25 and full-time enrollment status at UMass Dartmouth must be maintained throughout the duration of the scholarship. Eligible students may apply for a second year, but renewal of the award is not guaranteed.

Roy J. Zuckerberg Scholarship Endowment

This scholarship will provide support to a student who has demonstrated extraordinary achievement in academics and community service at UMass Dartmouth. To be considered, student must be a full-time student enrolled at UMass Dartmouth; must demonstrate extraordinary achievement in academics and community service; maintain an overall GPA of 3.25. This scholarship is open to any major. There is no residency requirement, with preference given to out-of-state students. This scholarship is a one-year scholarship that is not renewable.

The Zuckerberg Scholarship will be available for the 2018-2019 academic year.  The Financial Aid office will reach out to the eligible candidates.
