Tuition & Fees

Tuition & fees: academic year 2023-2024

Graduate tuition and fees correlate to the course and/or program curriculum you are pursuing. In most cases, students matriculated in graduate degree programs will pay standard rates. Please see rates below. Charges are subject to change.

UMass Law students

Note that nine (9) credits per semester constitutes a full-time load for graduate students. For UMass Law students, twelve (12) credits per semester constitutes a full-time load.

Online & Continuing Education students

Students enrolled in programs offered through Online & Continuing Education will pay those rates

International students

To obtain the Form I-20, you must submit documentation to prove you have sufficient financial support to cover the estimated cost of attending UMass Dartmouth for one academic year. For the Fall 2023 semester, estimated proof of funds are needed in the amount of at least $41,129 ($26,084 tuition and fees; $12,310 living expenses and $2,735 health insurance) in USA dollars (this is subject to change). If the Form I-20 is issued, then you would use it to try to obtain the F-1 visa from a USA embassy or consulate in your home country or in a neighboring country.

Proximity tuition programs

New England: UMass Dartmouth participates in the New England Regional Student Program, which offers reduced rates to out-of-state residents in certain programs.

Rhode Island: Residents of Rhode Island admitted to one of UMass Dartmouth’s graduate programs in the spring 2019 term or later will be charged the proximity rate. This rate is only available for Rhode Island residents who matriculate in or after spring 2019 or students who were eligible for the proximity rate based on the guidelines in effect on the date of their original matriculation.

NUWC: All employees of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) who take UMass Dartmouth graduate courses will be eligible for the proximity rate, irrespective of their residency status.
