Fall Move-in: Process and Information

Note: If you are a UMassD Law student, a new international student, or are approved for an early arrival (Fall athlete or selected ROC volunteer, for example) you should follow the move-in schedule sent you by your coach, supervisor, advisor or faculty member.

Immunization records

Immunization records **must** be up to date prior to your arrival and check in to campus housing. The Health Services office is open 8-5 Monday through Friday starting August 14, 2017, with full clinical services. On first-year move-in day - Sunday, September 3 - it will be open 7:30 am through 6:30 pm for first aid and to answer questions regarding the immunization and health form requirements. Students should go to the student portal at http://www.umassd.edu/studentaffairs/health to complete the online health history and to download/upload their immunization and TB risk assessment forms prior to moving to campus. Health Services is closed on Monday, September 4. Students who have questions regarding any acute illness or injury when Health Services is closed should call the RN Telephone Advice Line at 508-815-4588.

Dashboard arrival day permits

You must display the arrival day permit (sent to your UMassD email account) on your vehicle dashboard when arriving on-campus. Follow the directions of the road signage and all traffic control staff. All first year students and family members are being asked to turn right after entering campus. You will be placed in a staging parking lot upon your arrival and then called to your assigned building as soon as space is available near that building. You can expect to wait with your vehicle as much as one hour, depending on your established move-in time. Please do not use more than two parking permits.

Please do not arrive early!

You will not be permitted to enter the staging parking lots until one hour before your scheduled arrival/check-in time.

When you arrive at your assigned building, please stay with your vehicle while it is being unloaded by our move-in volunteers. Do not leave your belongings unattended! The vehicle's driver must move the unloaded vehicle to a space in one of the parking lots designated by the traffic control staff. Unattended vehicles left in the Unloading Zones will be towed at your expense. For your convenience, there will be large carts available for your use to expedite the unloading process, and a group of move in volunteers will assist you in navigating to stairwells near your assigned room or the central building elevator. With the assistance of move in volunteers, students living on 1st or 2nd floors will be encouraged to use stairwells to avoid delays at the central building elevator.

Student check-in

While your car is being unloaded, proceed to the check-in tables in front of each residence hall to pick up your room key, fill out/verify your emergency contact information, and complete a room/apartment inventory. Please have your UMass Dartmouth student ID with you.
