Now known as Main Auditorium / AUD; Begun October 1968 Completed Fall 1971; Architects: Desmond and Lord, Inc.; Job Captain: Grattan Gill and Jan Heespelink; Structural Engineer: Sepp Firnkas; Sanitary Engineer: Robert W. The auditorium was originally designed to have a fifth lecture hall protruding from the parking lot side of the building which was eliminated due to budget concerns. The SMTI/UMass Dartmouth auditorium is remarkably similar to the one at the Creative Arts Center at Colgate University and his design for a theater project for a Ford Foundation exhibition in 1962.
